Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Group Health Centre (GHC) is proud to announce a significant and generous contribution from the Ruscio family, with special recognition to Tony and Anna Ruscio, whose donation of $200,000 will directly support the purchase of vital medical equipment for GHC’s Surgery and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) departments.
This heartfelt act of charity reflects the Ruscio family’s deep-rooted commitment to improving healthcare in the Sault Ste. Marie community. Their donation will fund state-of-the-art surgical equipment, including vital signs monitors, a gastroscope, a surgical table, and a modernized monitor and light system to support intricate ENT procedures. This will allow our specialists to continue to deliver high-quality care to patients throughout the Algoma District.
“We are incredibly grateful to Tony and Anna Ruscio and their children, Domenic, Marcella, Linda and Barbara for this extraordinary gift,” said Lil Silvano, GHC President & CEO. “This donation will have both an immediate and lasting impact, helping us provide our surgical and ENT teams with the tools they need to serve patients efficiently and effectively.”
Tony and Anna Ruscio have long been recognized as pillars of the community, and this latest gesture continues their legacy of generosity and leadership. “Sault Ste. Marie will always be home to us. It’s where we learned the value of community, and where we’ve been shaped by the care, kindness, and support of so many. Our gift to the Group Health Centre is a way of giving back — helping ensure that every neighbour, friend, and family member can access the best possible care, close to home,” said the Ruscio Family.
The Group Health Centre extends its deepest thanks to Tony and Anna Ruscio and their family for their extraordinary generosity and continued dedication to building a stronger, healthier community.
