Meet Natalie Bazely, a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with Group Health Centre’s (GHC) pediatric team. NP Bazely plays an essential role in supporting the health and well-being of children in our community.
Since joining GHC last fall, she has played a pivotal role in newborn healthcare across our community. Alongside NP Kylie Denardo, who also joined GHC last fall, this team rosters unattached newborns. This provides much-needed continuity of care for families without a primary care provider and prevents new parents from turning to walk-in clinics for routine baby care.
“It was so great to give these families a consistent place to turn,” NP Bazely said. “Babies deserve dedicated care right from the beginning, and parents need that comfort and support too.”
Along with caring for unattached newborns, NP Bazely provides primary care to more than 500 children and works to meet all their healthcare needs. She is also passionate about working with adolescents, taking time to educate them about their health and creating a safe space for open conversation. “I want teens to feel empowered and comfortable talking to me. Building those relationships now means they’ll be more confident in managing their health long-term.”
Her primary care practice includes pediatric patients from the GHC Access Care Clinic, as well as stable complex unattached patients referred from the Pediatrician Team. Her presence has enabled Pediatricians to accept more referrals, ultimately increasing access to care for more children in our community.
NP Bazely’s dedication, compassion, and collaborative approach have made her an invaluable asset to the GHC team—and to the hundreds of families she supports every day.
